Our Team

Mr. Upali Witharna is the brainchild behind the hydro and solar power sector of EGHL. He has Master’s Degree in Business Administration  from University of Colombo.  Mr. Upali is a qualified management accountant (FCA, FCMA) from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (1980-1985) in Sri Lanka and also a  Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka &  Fellow Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants. He is the CEO responsible for entire development and operational works of the hydro power plants under EGHL. In addition to this work, he is the Managing Director / Chief Financial Officer of Ceylinco General Insurance Limited from June 2015 to Date and Director / Chief Financial Officer of Ceylinco Insurance PLC (General Division) from 2005 – 31st May 2015.

Mr. Jeewantha is the project manager responsible for installations and operations related to electro-mechanical scope of work of hydro power projects of the company. He holds Higher National Diploma from Advance Technological Institute (2004 – 2008). He has 10 years hands on experience in Electrical Design, Installation, Testing and commissioning of small hydro power stations. He has commissioned and tested more than 25 solar & hydro power plants together with the Utility and has complete knowledge in test parameters, settings for safe tripping etc. Mr. Jeewantha is also capable of working with remote monitoring protocols supplied by European E&M suppliers. Mr. Jeewantha was working for the multinational conglomerate HAYLEYS PLC as a Electrical Engineer before starting his carrier at EGHL.

Eng. Bulumulla has academic Qualifications from MSc in IT University of Wales Cardiff UK, (1989 -1991). He is a Member of Institute of Mechanical Engineers London, (1981-1984) , BSc Mechanical Engineering, University of Wales Cardiff, (1984-1989) Graduate member of Institute of Mechanical Engineers London UK (1990). Eng. Bulumulla was instrumental in developing the projects in the company under Cey Hydro Developers (Pvt) Limited SPV. He has extensive knowledge in developing small hydro power in Sri Lanka. Eng. Bulumulla, in addition to being an Engineer has experience development banking and project financing. He was employed at National Development Bank, Colombo Sri Lanka and DFCC Bank, Colombo Sri Lanka before he explored the small hydro power sector in Sri Lanka. Eng. Bulumulla has developed 6 small hydro power projects during the period 2001 to 2017 and was involved in those projects from concept to commercial operation.

Mr. Shiran Anuradha graduated from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in Physical Science (Mathematical) stream in 2000-2003. He has started his at Ms Dolphin Marine Services Pvt Ltd ,one of the main contractors for Ms Colombo Dockyard PLC (CDL), he has been involved in many heavy engineering projects with CDL since 2003 to 2010 and gained many engineering experiences in  building of ships, Ship Repair, Off-shore repair, fuel & LNG Pipelines, and Repair of Boilers and thermal plants. Under his leadership, the company successfully installed & commissioned a 2.7Km long, 520 meters net head hydropower penstock line at a very difficult terrine. Which is the highest net head hydropower plant built in Sri Lanka. Shiran joined EGHL in 2010 and was responsible for enrire mechanical works of Rajjammana hydro power project.

Mr. Vinod Lalinda Passed out from University of Jayawardenapura,Sri Lanka (2008-2012) in B.Sc. Business Administration General Degree. has been engaged at Ceypower Cascades Pvt Ltd firm as an Accountant from 01st  of August 2008 until to-date. and He was   engaged at Ceyhydro Developers Pvt Ltd firm as an Accountant from 01st  ofJanuary 2016 until to date.
