RAJJAMMANA SMALL HYDRO POWER PROJECT (6MW)

Category:

This project is in a regulated water-way belonging to Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka. The project is special due to the large volume of design flow of 65 Cumecs.

The large hydraulic mechanical structures are used for the first for small scale hydro power in Sri Lanka.

The usage of high quality European electro-mechanical equipment  together with local excellence in the design of civil structural works, Rajjammana Hydro Power Project is regarded as one of the best engineered projects in Sri Lanka in terms of quality of construction, overall cost efficiency, value engineering and meeting time targets as well as cost targets.

The initial approval process started in year 2009 and the PPA was signed  2011. The project commenced construction activities soon after PPA and started commercial operation in May 2013.

The project is in commercial operation for 9 consecutive years by 2022. The on-time maintenance of the civil and electro-mechanical items are carried out by the in house staff.

Rajjammana Hydro Power Plant today is regarded as one of the best hydro power plants operational in Sri Lanka in terms of quality of construction, Superior E&M works by West European Origin Suppliers, Meeting the generation targets consecutively, an overall maintenance of the plant by our Engineering teams.
